The film needs more mice in scene. We'll add them in post.

Louis, the new silent film about Louis Armstrong

You heard it from Roger Ebert himself. There is a brand new silent film about the life, or at least the childhood, of Louis Armstrong. And it features a musical score performed by Wynton Marsalis, Cecile Licad, and a 10-piece jazz ensemble. And what does it look like? It looks like this.

How long has it been since you saw a brand new silent film? Well, perhaps 4 years if you saw Brand Upon the Brain. In any case, it is still a rare animal that should be nurtured.

And what’s this? There is a second film, entitled Bolden, about another jazz legend, which will be released in 2011. What a bold experiment!
